ESPN has a 12 year deal to broadcast the College Football Playoff, starting in 2015, which they paid close to $7.3 billion to acquire.
So, they have secured 15 official sponsors for this year's coverage. The goal obviously down the road is to make a sponsorship for these games, as valuable as a Super Bowl ad. Probably will not happen, but the landscape constantly changes in the sports business arena.
