Crawford's Golf Daily, For May 31st 2014

By Gregory Crawford---TV, Print and Radio Golf Analyst   twitter @wchoops @crawssportsbiz

Crawford's Golf Daily starting May 31st will be published everyday except Tuesday and will not only have features,  news, notes and opinion, but each day will contain segments on how to grow the game of golf, the game we all love and respect.

Jack Nicklaus---It is interesting to note that Jack Nicklaus' longest streak of not missing a cut was 105 tournaments and it was stopped in 1976 of at all places, Pinehurst.

LPGA----It is so nice to see that the LPGA stop will return to Portland again in 2014, for the 42nd consecutive year. The tournament will be played at Columbia Edgewater and will be presented by the Cambia Group. Hats off to tall the members of Tournament Golf Foundation for getting this done.

U.S. Open--- An idea I have thrown out for years, why not starting in 2022, have the U.S. Open played in all 50 states. Would be easy to do, especially with 50 years of planning. It would be great for golf and beyond.

If you have ever wanted to build a 3-hole, 6-hole, 9-hole or 12-hole golf course, please contact us and we can make it happen with our award winning design team and marketing team. http://kiyokawacrawfordsportsmanagement.weebly.com , email kiyokawacrawford@gmail.com

Crawford's Golf Daily, May 24th, 2014

By Gregory Crawford---TV, Radio and Print Golf Analyst---- twitter @wchoops @crawssportsbiz

Colin Montgomerie----Sunday sets up big time for the 75th PGA Senior Championship, in Benton Harbor Michigan.

Is it time for Colin Montgomerie to win an individual event on United State soil. It truly is hard to believe that as good of a player as is Montgomerie, he has never won a major championship, let alone any single player event in the United States.

Adding more drama to the final round on Sunday, will be the fact that Montgomerie and Bernhard Langer were often at odds in Saturday round over the slow play of Langer. The two will once again be paired together on the final day tomorrow and each day they have been paired together. Sunday starts with Montgomerie having a one shot lead.

Gary Koch----Of course we are so use to seeing Johnny Miller in the lead analyst chair on NBC golf coverage. But hardly a beat is miss when Gary Koch fills in for that role, as he is doing this weekend at the Senior PGA Championship.

While Koch is not as controversial as Miller, he is also not afraid to throw out some very important opinions and so important for an analyst, if you listen to him you are for sure going to learn a lot about golf.

Koch just might be the most underrated golf journalist on TV, he deserves a lot of credit for his work.

Do not forget, every Sunday night on blog talk radio, Gregory Crawford teams up with David Ogrin to give you so much insight into golf. Join the listeners to the CO Golf Show at 9,10,11 and midnight eastern time, every Sunday night.

Sunday Night----Every Sunday night please join me and David Ogrin for the CO Golf Show on blog talk radio. The link to listen for the Sunday night show of May 18th is http://tobtr.com/s/6344045.

David Ogrin is a talented golf instructor, assistant golf coach at Texas Lutheran University and multiple winner on the PGA Tour. He brings it every Sunday night at 9,10,11 p.m. and midnight on the east coast.

Phil Mickelson---Maybe the most popular player in all of golf is really struggling in 2014. In 2014, Mickelson has played in 10 tournaments, in which he has missed the cut three times, had to withdraw twice and has ZERO top 10 finishes.

Mickelson will be back in action at the Memorial, FedEx St. Jude Classic and the U.S. Open. Mickelson currently ranks 85th (ouch) in the FedEx Cup standings and eighth in the Ryder Cup points. Could we even stand for one second Phil Mickelson not being on the Ryder Cup team in 2014.

Tom Watson----Crawford's Golf Daily has learned that there is some interest at Fox Sports to adding Tom Watson to their golf announcing team in 2015, the first year of a 15 year contract for Fox to televise exclusively USGA events, of which the first event will be the U.S. Open at Chambers Bay.

Watson and Greg Norman on the same telecast could be really interesting and great for golf fans. Both do not hold back on any comments, so the fun would be terrific. Stand-by as always for this one.

Crawford's Golf Daily, May 10th, 2014

Jordan Spieth----It is going to be a great weekend at the Player's Championship. Martin Kaymer is in the lead starting play, by one stroke over Jordan Spieth.

It will be fun to watch how Spieth handles this. He certainly at 20 years old, is one great talent and my prediction to break all of Jack and Tiger's golf records.

But he needs to start right now on path to stardom, this would be a terrific win for him, against what is always considered the field in golf. Fun, fun times are ahead for this guy, but can he close the deal on Sunday..

Eastmoreland---It is nice to know that a publication that I have so much respect for, Golfweek, has the course where I grew up on, Eastmoreland, ranked as the 45th best municipal golf course in the country. Eastmoreland has the beauty and has the respect of all golfers to be ranked that high.

LPGA In Portland---The big news about the LPGA in Portland is that there is no news at present. Rumors persist that the tournament will soon have a title sponsor, but so far nothing has been announced and it just less than three months until tee time.

It will also be interesting to see if the tournament will be back at Columbia Edgewater, which is also not official at this time and the sponsoring group TGF has no contract with at present.

This is an important issue for many people, as this is the most popular longest running golf event in the Northwest and true treasure, run by a great group Tournament Golf Foundation.

Hopefully we will see some movement on this soon, time is of the essence to get a title sponsor and to get a golf course.
