Crawford's Golf Daily, For July 27th, 2014

By Gregory Crawford---COO of Kiyokakwa Crawford Sports Management and TV, Print and Radio Golf Analyst ----- on twitter @wchoops and @kcsportsmgmt

LPGA----Tomorrow, I will once again have the honor of playing in the annual "Big Swing", which is the media day for the annual LPGA stop in Portland, Oregon, which will take place this year August 25th-31st at the world famous Columbia Edgewater CC in North Portland.

The Portland stop is really popular each year because of the area's great weather, the superb condition of the golf course and last, but not least the management group for the tournament, Tournament Golf Foundation (TGF).

TGF has been doing this for 43 years, as Portland is the longest running non-major on the LPGA Tour. Later this week, we will be giving you more detail about TGF, as they never can get enough credit for the job they do in bringing golf to Oregon/SW Washington, not only golf, but perhaps Oregon's greatest continual sporting event.

LPGA---Speaking of the LPGA it is one of the hottest sports properties in the world right now, being run superbly by its commissioner Mike Whan. But with success sometimes comes growth confusion. This week's International event, will eventually be good for golf, but when the TV crew has constant trouble explaining the format, there is work to be done. At least I watch and care, but this event has some real potential, once everyone is able to figure out a complicated scoring system.

David Ogrin---- Just in case you have not listened to the CO Golf Show, tonight would be a great night to start. David Ogrin is a great golf analysis who brings a perspective to the show that is unmatched anywhere in the golf media. To listen tonight at 9:00 PDT or midnight EDT, the link is and it changes each week, http://tobtr.com/s/6725017.
