Crawford's Golf Daily, For July 20th, 2014

By Gregory Crawford---TV, Radio and Print Golf Analysis and COO of Kiyokawa Crawford Sports Management, http://kiyokawacrawfordsportsmanagement.weebly.com  twitter @wchoops and @crawssportsbiz

The Open----With the completion of another Open, it really is hard to believe that Sergio Garcia is now on a 15 year drought without winning a major championship and that Tiger Woods is on a six year drought with no major titles.

It is also hard to believe that Rickie Fowler does not win more tournaments. He is one athlete today that everyone can root for, no questions asked. Fowler conducts himself in a manner we can all appreciate and especially the fact he has a long history of honoring the game of golf and its strong traditions. We also in fairness have to brace ourselves that he might always going to be a top flight player, but perhaps not the super star that we all can hope he might still become someday.

Tiger Woods--- The talk has begun in earnest. Should Tiger Woods be on the 2014 United States Ryder Cup team. Of course the added steam to this question is that Ryder Cup Captain Tom Watson and Tiger have always had a frosty relationship, even though it is often denied.

My retort on this. There is no way you can leave Tiger Woods off of the Ryder Cup team. He has to be on that team, as does Phil Mickelson. I am sorry, but it will probably leave some even more deserving players off the team, but deal with it. Woods and Mickelson deserve to be there, no questions asked.

Every Sunday night at 9,10,11 and midnight in all time zones, please listen to the CO Golf Show, with David Ogrin and Gregory Crawford, to listen on Sunday night, July 20th, http://tobtr.com/s/6593163
